Hindu/English Fusion Wedding Photography
The Woburn Sculpture Gallery was a riot of colour and fun for Jasmin and Joshua's Hindu/English fusion wedding earlier this year. The bride and groom looked stunning in their wedding outfits. The Mandap was bedecked with beautiful floral designs and it looked stunning positioned in front of the temple in the Sculpture Gallery. The Hindu ceremony was abridged in order that the couple could have an English civil ceremony on the same day and this also took place in the Sculpture Gallery. Fortunately the weather was improving for us and the happy couple could enjoy some time in the grounds with their family and friends ahead of the wedding breakfast. It was a wonderful day and you will see from the images in the slideshow how in love the couple were and how thrilled their family and friends were to be sharing the occasion with them.
I hope you enjoy the slideshow and if you would like to see more of my Woburn Sculpture Gallery weddings then please click this link.

"Hi David, I just wanted to drop you a note and say a huge thank your these AMAZING photos ! We are absolutely thrilled and don't know what magic you worked as we usually hate photos of ourselves , but these are truly wonderful. You really captured the day and we are forever grateful of these wonderful memories. Thank you so much again".
Siobhan and Robert
It's always heart warming to get such lovely feedback from your clients and this was certainly the case when I received this lovely email from Siobhan and Robert after they had seen their wedding images for the first time. As a Bedfordshire wedding photographer its my role to capture timeless moments for my clients to cherish forever. Giving them the opportunity to relive one of the most important days of their lives, time and time again. Capturing those memories for them and re-telling the story of their wedding day.
As a Bedfordshire wedding photographer I am lucky enough to work at Woburn Sculpture Gallery on a very regular basis. It's a quite stunning venue at any time of the year but it looked particularly resplendent as the sun shone down on us earlier this spring. My day started at the Woburn Hotel where I met up with Siobhan and her bridesmaids - all the girls were very relaxed and enjoyed the pre wedding preparations to the full. The cottages at the Woburn Hotel are a great place for bridal prep with lots of room for hair, makeup, florists and photographers !
The ceremony took place at the Woburn Sculpture Gallery, two lovely readings and a few tears - a perfect combination. The obligatory confetti cannon at the end of the recessional marked the start of the drinks reception which took place on the sun-kissed terrace. Siobhan and Robert enjoyed the company of friends and family (in particular their baby, Thea) as I worked amongst them capturing some lovely candid moments. It was also great to be able to spend a little 'couple time' for some photographs in the grounds. In no time at all the wedding breakfast commenced with the happy couple making a magnificent entrance to rapturous applause from their guests. The speeches included an introduction to the 'Lovebot' - a fully functioning (well kind of) interactive robot who would spill out random (often embarrassing) information about the groom. Make sure you check out the pictures below, the Lovebot was a great addition to the bridal party and even took to the dance floor later in the evening !

If you are looking for a Bedfordshire based photographer with an unobtrusive, candid style for your Woburn Sculpture Gallery wedding - then why not contact me , I'd love to hear more about your plans.
As a Bedfordshire Wedding Photographer I love my frequent visits to the majestic Woburn Sculpture Gallery set within the spectacular and historic Woburn estate. With its private rose garden and terrace overlooking the Camellia Lake, it provides a magnificent and elegant backdrop for civil ceremonies and wedding receptions.

It was the perfect location for Rachael and Alfred's wonderful wedding. I started the day meeting the girls at the Woburn Inn Hotel, it's a great place for bridal prep with plenty of room for hairstylists, make up artists, bridesmaids, brides, wedding photographers , etc ! It can be a little daunting having a photographer turn up to capture intimate moments like the bridal prep but Rachael and the girls were great to work with and my candid style allowed me to blend in and capture all the fun they were having without the need for choreography and posing.

It was then off to the Woburn Sculpture Gallery to capture the pre wedding guest arrivals. I love capturing this element of the wedding, lots of excitement, hugs and kisses .. this was certainly the case here, it was clear how much love family and friends had for the happy couple. I always like to get up close and amongst the crowds for this time of day, Im not the type of photographer that likes to 'pap' people from a bush 100 yards away. Getting closer to the action creates a much more interesting and meaningful image.

Woburn Sculpture Gallery has to be one of the best locations for a bridal procession, as you can see, it can take a long time for the bride and her father to walk the length of the gallery to the foot of the temple for the wedding ceremony. I loved capturing the interaction between Rachael and her father as they walked towards us. It's unrepeatable moments like this that really make my heart sing as a documentary wedding photography. Moments like this can't be posed, you have to be there in the right place at the right time , a second later and the moment would have passed.

I like to work in a very unobtrusive way, capturing the essence of the wedding without interfering with the natural flow of the day. I do however like to spend a little time with the couple to capture a few softly posed images of just the two of them together. Sometimes it can be quite hard on your wedding day to get any time alone together to take in the occasion. This 'couple time' with me is a great opportunity to spend some time together alone for the first time as a married couple. This doesn't have to be rigid and formulaic - just spend a little time together and embrace the occasion, the photographs look so much more natural as a consequence. Here you can see how Rachael and Alfred did just that, their relaxed approach allowed me to capture some lovely moments for the two of them.

The wedding reception followed quickly afterwards with some emotional speeches and some fun and games from the best men. An impromptu game of 'Mr & Mrs' followed - it would appear the happy couple gave all the correct answers ! A romantic first dance completed the formalities and the newly wed's partied long into the night. A perfect day for both of them.

I LOVE photographing Woburn Weddings !
Woburn Sculpture Gallery is a stunning venue for a wedding and it's somewhere I am fortunate enough to return to on a very frequent basis and I can't wait to return there again in 2019 for some lovely couples who have booked me for their weddings. Whatever your wedding plans, Woburn Sculpture Gallery always delivers - amazing gardens and internal space and architecture coupled with superb customer service provided by the team there.
It was so good to return to Woburn Sculpture Gallery for Sam and Scott's wonderful wedding in May. We have been blessed with some amazing weather this year and it was no different for Sam and Scott as they were married in a lovely intimate ceremony in Maulden. It was then off to Woburn to enjoy a sun-kissed drinks reception. As a documentary wedding photographer based in Bedfordshire, the majority of my wedding photography is unposed and candid but it's always lovely to have some couple time so we can explore the grounds and I can capture the happy couple together. I always make sure that this time doesn't interfere with the natural flow of the wedding day and after a little time together Sam and Scott were able to enjoy the company of their family and friends and the wonderful wedding breakfast in the Sculpture Gallery. After the speeches it was time to party, with guests enjoying the grounds as the sun set on a wonderful day.

Amy and Lawrence shared a magical wedding day with their family and friends when they were married at the Woburn Hotel with a reception at the Woburn Safari Lodge. Despite the weather being more 'drab UK' than 'scorching Serengeti' the Woburn Safari Lodge was transformed by Amy and her family into a cacophony of colour containing a myriad of personal touches that really stamped the happy couples personality on the day.
Steel drums provided musical accompaniment as guests enjoyed gorgeous steaks, freshly barbecued on the terrace outside, with calories being burned later in the day when guests took to the lake in Swan pedelo's !
Amy and Lawrence wanted a relaxed and personal wedding, an occasion where family and friends could come together to celebrate and as you'll see from the images below, they smashed it ! Congrats to you both and thanks for letting me share in your Safari Lodge magic.
Just a quick word of congratulations to the wonderful Nikki and Dave who were married at the Woburn Sculpture Gallery at the weekend. It was a fabulous day for the couple who had friends and family travel from far and wide to share the occasion with them.
