It's nice to be in a position to have a weekend without work these days so we took a little trip up the M6 to Crufts on Saturday. I must confess to being a little enamored with pooches (the bigger the better in my opinion). Alas, our busy lifestlye dictates that we are a pet free family at present, perhaps one day we will have the time to dedicate to a new furry family member. Here are a few of the characters I met whilst trudging around a packed NEC. All the images are taken with the wonderful Fuji x100, min ISO 2000 at f2 - no flash, unlike many who I saw pressing point and shoots way too close to our little friends , momentarily blinding them !!
Bedford's riverside was transformed into a hive of activity when 325 boating crews took part in the Bedford Amateur Regatta - the largest river regatta in the country. The sunny weather brought crowds of people, who lined the Embankment to cheer on rowers young and old. Local clubs were well represented, with Bedford Rowing Club, Star Club, Bedford School, Bedford Modern School, Dame Alice Harpur School and Bedford High School all entering races which took place throughout the 147th regatta event to be held in the town.
