Well this made a change for this summer, a wet wedding !!! We have been blessed some amazing weather this year but the heavens opened for Katie and Josh's lovely Longstowe Hall Wedding. But did the happy couple let the weather dampen their spirits ..... not in the slightest !!!! I always get asked the question by prospective clients, "what happens if it rains " ? My stock answer is always the same, EMBRACE IT ! and this is exactly what Katie and Josh did. Whatever the weather, Longstowe Hall always looks amazing and today was no exception. The lawns looked lush and the borders were spectacular. Here's a little feedback from the newly-weds :
"David did such a wonderful job capturing our wedding day. He was a pleasure to deal with in the lead up to our wedding and on the day, dealing with the rainy weather easily and finding several solutions for us so that we could still have some outdoor pictures. He was inobtrusive and captured some lovely natural shots which have turned out to be our favourites. We are so pleased with our wedding pictures and really will treasure them forever, we are so pleased we chose David as our wedding photographer."
Such lovely feedback from an amazing couple.

WOW WOW WOW ... what a day we had back in July celebrating Diana and Adam's wedding at the always spectacular Longstowe Hall. We were right in the middle of this years amazing summer when the sun shone and didn't stop - total bliss (if a little hot and sweaty for us wedding photographers). At Longstowe Hall you have the best of both worlds, the Rose Ball Room for those who would like an indoor ceremony or the tranquil lakeside setting of the Pavilion Island. Rebecca Waldron of White Rose Ceremonies conducted proceedings with lots of very person touches, readings and hand fasting.
Although the vast majority of my wedding photography is documentary and candid, the grounds at Longstowe just HAVE to be explored and I always suggest to my clients that they have 20 minutes or so 'couple time' to enjoy the grounds and have some photographs of the two of them together. Longstowe didn't disappoint as we explored the Rose Garden and the spectacular double flower borders and lake - a simply stunning explosion of colour.
As Diana and Adam are both originally from the USA many family and friends jetted in for the occasion, it was truly an international affair and a day that they will never forget. Here's just a sample of the images taken on the day.
As recommended supplier at Longstowe Hall I'm fortunate enough to work there on a regular basis and I have a really good working relationship with the team there. Why not drop me a line if you're planning a Longstowe wedding in 2019, there are still some weekend dates available.
From the first time I met Hannah and Darren , I knew this was going to be a wonderful occasion, and oh boy, they certainly didn't disappoint.
The wedding ceremony and reception took place at Longstowe Hall, a hidden gem set amongst ancient woodland in the Cambridgeshire countryside. The intimate ceremony took place in the quite spectacular Rose Ball Room, make sure you take a look at some of the images I have posted - it really is a wonderful setting for a ceremony. Afterwards, the guests enjoyed a drinks reception on the sun bathed lawns at the front of the hall while I spent a little time with the happy couple exploring the beautiful gardens.
Hannah and Darren had clearly invested considerable time and effort into the way the marquee was dressed for the wedding breakfast, with wonderful attention to detail. Linda and the staff at Longstowe worked tirelessly to make the day that extra bit special for the happy couple and it was lovely to see the effort everyone connected with the wedding had made to make the occasion all the more memorable.
Here's just a small selection of images that capture the beauty of the location and the amazing day Hannah and Darren shared with family and friends.
I had the pleasure of visiting Longstowe Hall for the first time to shoot Hannah and Darren's wonderful wedding. I was blown away with the location and grounds, it really is a gem set in the Cambridgeshire countryside. Dating from the reign of Elizabeth 1, Longstowe Hall lies hidden within ancient woodland that opens out to reveal a glorious English garden. Longstowe remains a family home and they are open for wedding from April to October.
As a documentary and fine art wedding photographer it is my aim to capture your wedding day in a unobtrusive and candid way, creating beautifully emotive imagery that you will cherish forever.
