Norfolk Wedding Photographer - Great Massingham Summer Wedding
Great Massingham is one of Norfolks most picturesque villages and the perfect venue for a informal, countryside wedding.
" Hi David, we have just looked through our wedding photographs and they are amazing ! Thank you for all your time and effort on the day, we love them all. "
Becky & Dan
As we sit here shivering and the summer seems like a dim and distant memory I thought I'd post a selection of images from a wonderful Norfolk wedding I was commissioned for a little while ago. Becky and Dan were looking for a relaxed and unobtrusive style to their wedding photographs.
As a documentary and fine art photographer it’s a privilege to be able to simply wander, watch and capture the magic of wonderful weddings.
With the exception of a few posed couple shots and some family groups I work candidly, capturing moments that tell the true story of the wedding day, nothing posed, nothing contrived. Just real moments capturing the real essence of the wedding day.
I started the day at the Dabbling Duck pub, a great starting point for family and friends to gather and catch up over a refreshing drink before heading across the village green to St Mary's church for the wedding ceremony. Becky and Dan incorporated some lovely personal touches throughout their day, one of the most popular being an ice cream stand that greeted guests in the grounds of the church after the wedding. All the guests (and the photographer) tucked into Ronaldo's delicious, locally sourced ice cream until the wedding party made their way to the village hall for the reception. Hay bales, bunting and a delicious BBQ followed as the sun set on a wonderful day for the happy couple. Here's a selection of my favourite images from this wonderful Norfolk wedding.

What a great day I had shooting Courtney and Jack's wonderful wedding at the stunning Lapstone Barn in September. Lapstone Barn is a brand new, exclusive use venue set in the stunning Cotswold countryside. The 18th Century Cotswold stone barn was the perfect venue for our fun-loving couple to share their special day with family and friends.
Courtney and Jack booked me because they loved my unobtrusive, documentary style wedding coverage - and this worked so well for them at the Lapstone Barn as I was able to work discreetly capturing Courtney's bridal prep all the way through to the spectacular first dance and partying into the wee small hours.
This was truly a stylish affair with Jack and the groomsmen arriving in limited edition Bentleys. Courtney looked absolutely spectacular as she walked down the aisle with her father. The barn was dressed to impress also, with stunning floral displays and styling courtesy of the team at Styletopia.
It was tough narrowing down a selection of favourites to include in the blog, but hopefully the images below will give you a great feel for the wonderful day Courtney and Jack enjoyed.

What do you get if you mix a couple who are now officially 'Mr & Mrs Marriage' with the beautiful Essex countryside, stunning summer weather, an ancient church, a wonderful family home, THE BBQ OF ALL BBQ's , archery, a classic E Type Jag and a stunning marquee accommodating over 120 very happy guests ? That's right, you get a sensational wedding day.... and I was lucky enough to be invited along to document Faye and Mikes spectacular countryside, marquee wedding in my candid, unobtrusive, documentary style.
I think the images speak for themselves, you won't be left wondering if everyone connected to this wedding had a good time or not ! Mike is a filmmaker, director and writer and it was important to both Mike and Faye that I capture the day in a very unobtrusive and candid manner. Other than a small amount of time with the couple later in the day, I was able to fully immerse myself into the occasion. Capturing the emotional ceremony, the wonderful drinks reception, speeches and finally dancing on what was a never to be forgotten experience for the bride and groom.
So what did you think of Faye and Mike's Marquee Wedding ?
Perhaps you are planning a marquee wedding of your own ?
If you like my candid, unobtrusive style of wedding photography why not contact me to discuss your plans. I'd love to hear from you.
